Lawn Renovation Services
If your lawn is looking tired, patchy, full of moss or simply past its best, don't write it off just yet - I'm The Lawn Doctor, and I specialise in bringing damaged or neglected lawns back to life across Wrexham, Chester, Oswestry, and North Wales.
Using a combination of scarification, aeration, overseeding, and top dressing, I create tailored renovation plans that rebuild your lawn from the ground up. Whether it's been affected by moss, compaction, drought, or heavy use - I've got the tools and know-how to restore it.

What Is Lawn Renovation?
Lawn renovation is more than just a quick feed and water. It's a series of professional steps that treat the underlying issues affecting your grass - like poor soil, heavy thatch, or weak roots. Done properly, you'll see a denser, greener, more resilient lawn that looks and feels brand new.

Scarification - Strip Out the Dead Stuff
Scarification is like giving your lawn a deep clean. Using a Camon professional scarifier, I remove the build-up of thatch (dead grass, moss, debris) that chokes out water, light and nutrients. Without this layer removed, even the best feed won't get through.

Aeration - Let It Breathe
Compacted soil stops roots from expanding and water from draining. If your lawn feels spongy, floods easily or struggles to green up, it may need aeration. I offer both solid tine and hollow tine aeration depending on the level of compaction and the season.

Overseeding - Fill the Gaps
Once the lawn is cleared and prepped, I apply high-quality grass seed matched to your soil, light conditions and usage (e.g. ornamental lawn vs kids/dogs). Overseeding fills in bare patches, thickens up thinning grass, and outcompetes future weeds.

Top Dressing - Smooth & Strengthen
After scarifying and seeding, I apply a layer of top dressing (a blend of sand, compost, and loam) to help level out bumps, improve soil structure, and support new grass seed. It's a finishing step that adds polish and performance.
Does your lawn qualify?
Has large bare or thinning patches
Suffers from excess moss or thatch
Floods easily or stays wet long after rain
Feels spongy, bumpy or compacted
Yellows in summer despite watering
